Web Tool Hub is built around one rule: your files never leave your device. Every tool on this site — compressing an image, merging a PDF, formatting JSON — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and Web APIs. There is no upload step, because there is no server that processes your files.
What we don't collect
We don't ask you to create an account. We don't collect your files, their contents, or their filenames. We don't run any analytics or advertising trackers on this site — there is no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no third-party script watching what you do here.
How each tool actually works
When you "upload" a file into any tool here, it's read directly into your browser's memory using the File API and processed with JavaScript, WebAssembly, or the Canvas/Web Audio APIs — whichever the tool needs. Heavier jobs (image compression, video trimming) run inside a Web Worker so the page doesn't freeze, but the work still happens on your machine, in your browser tab. Nothing is ever transmitted anywhere for processing.
Local storage
Some tools save small pieces of state in your browser's local storage so you don't lose work: your theme choice (theme), the Text Diff draft (text-diff-draft), the Markdown Editor draft (markdown-editor-draft), your Regex Tester pattern history (regex-tester-history) and saved Color Picker palettes (color-picker-saved-palettes). This data stays only on your device, is never sent to us, and you can remove it any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Assets downloaded from third-party CDNs
Your files are never uploaded, but some tools download their own code or data (not your content) when you use them: Trim Video and Audio Converter fetch the ffmpeg WebAssembly core from cdn.jsdelivr.net; Remove Background fetches its AI model and WebAssembly runtime from staticimgly.com; Kubernetes YAML Validator fetches public Kubernetes JSON Schema files from cdn.jsdelivr.net. These requests are plain downloads of public files, so those CDN providers may see your IP address and the file requested, like any website resource. The Markdown preview can also display images referenced in your text; if you reference an image from an external host, your browser will request it from that host (the site's content security policy normally blocks this). Image to Text (OCR) downloads the language data for the languages you pick (a .traineddata file of about 0.4–4 MB each) from cdn.jsdelivr.net, and your browser may keep a copy in its IndexedDB cache so it does not have to download it again; only the language data is fetched, your images and the recognised text never leave your device.
Hosting and technical logs
This site is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Like virtually any website, Cloudflare's edge network may log standard technical request data (such as IP address, user agent, and request timestamp) for security and operational purposes — this is infrastructure-level logging common to all web hosting, not something Web Tool Hub itself collects or has access to for tracking individuals.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies for tracking or advertising. Any future use of cookies (for example, if ads are introduced) will be disclosed here and gated behind a consent banner where required by law.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Since this is a static site with no account system, we have no way to notify you individually — check back here if you want to know the current terms.
